Highlights:
  • Support Fold/Unfold
  • Incorporate UDA Bundle Pricing for IntelliSphere
  • Encryption with default/custom keys for root and data EBS volumes
  • Update to CMIC 12.06.02

Exceptions:

  • PUT-1744 - swupgrade: add command line option for DBC password for Data Mover upgrades
For security reasons, 'swupgrade' script does not provide a means for the user to supply a DBC password, which is required during a Major/Minor upgrade of Data Mover application.
Workaround is to use PUT GUI for 15.xx to 16.10 upgrades.

  • Added support for South America (Sao Paulo) region
  • Added support for multi-node Server Management (CMIC)
Other technical specifications:
  • Fixed bug where Node Failure Recovery did not properly handle multiple AMPs per volume.
  • Fixed bug where Node Failure Recovery did not sync the time of the replacement node with the rest of the system fast enough.
  • Fixed bug where Node Failure Recovery improperly assumed the DISKID of a pdisk matches the pdisk name in the vconfig GDO.
  • Fixed bug where tdc-rebuild needs to wait for all AMPs being booted to go to the UTILITY state before running the rebuild utility.
  • Added additional image customization for Developer tier.
  • Added the -n option to the tdc-rebuild utility to allow Fallback rebuild with the DBS OFFLINE and logons being re-enabled once Fallback recovery is complete.
  • Added the new tdc-securezones command to allow the user to enable the secure zones feature easily.
  • Added the new tdc-rlsecurity command to allow the user to enable the row level security feature easily. The row level security feature is now disabled by default.

Release:   02.03.00.00
Marketplace Publish Date: November 2016
Marketplace Removal Date:  June 2017

Highlights:
  • Support for 64 node count limit (doubling the previous ceiling of 32)
  • Support for encrypted EBS volumes
  • Support for single subnet
  • Fallback recovery automation
Other technical specifications:
  • Upgrade Teradata Database to version 15.10.03.05.
  • Increase the maximum node count supported to 64 instances.
  • Configure the Bynet on an alias of the primary network so that only one subnet is required to bring up the Teradata Database on AWS. This reduces the number of parameters in the CloudFormation template that need to be filled out by the user, simplifying the network configuration immensely. CloudFormation templates which still configure the Bynet on two separate VLANs will no longer be available in the AWS Marketplace, but will be available from engineering on a case by case basis.
  • Provide a simple to execute full AMP rebuild script to recover from FATAL AMPs which result from a node failure recovery event on ephemeral instance types (i2 and d2 series).
  • Enable EBS volume encryption option in the CloudFormation template for Teradata pdisks.
  • Configure Teradata to come up automatically on a system reboot.
  • Adjust control GDO settings initialized by default to further optimize performance in public cloud environment.
  • Combine separate EBS and ephemeral storage instance type CloudFormation templates into a single template; only provide "Use existing" and "Create new" VPC and subnet CloudFormation templates.
  • Add QueryGrid T2A package to Database AMI.
  • Disable Secure Zones feature by default. User can enable feature manually if desired.
  • Don't launch an extra instance to snapshot the DB AMI to the user's account to be used for Node Failure Recovery, use the image direct from the AWS Marketplace instead.
  • Additional CIS security hardening applied to AMI.
  • Elastic IP addresses now function correctly after stopping and restarting the instances in a Teradata Database on AWS system.
  • Security vulnerability roll up for SLES11SP3 OS.
  • Log Teradata configuration information to CloudWatch so that stack launch failures can be triaged even though the stack was rolled back.
  • Prevent rpcbind from potentially taking udp port required by Bynet during node failure recovery.
  • Retry boto.utils.get_instance_medatdata() call due to intermittent KeyError failure.
  • Prevent out of order network setup during node failure recovery from failing Bynet configuration.
  • Set proper timezone setting on replacement instance spun up due to node failure recovery.
  • Retry SSL timeouts to the AWS endpoint when trying to launch a large node count Teradata Database system.
  • No longer launch an extra instance to save off a node failure recovery AMI into the user's AWS account during initial system launch, use the AMI in the AWS Marketplace instead.
  • Prevent Bynet network configuration timeouts by having the boto API log to INFO instead of to DEBUG.
  • Retry boto API "connection reset by peer" and "read timeout" errors during system launch.
  • In order to support higher system sizes, switch the Bynet UDP relay nodes to be Bynet UDP relay delegation nodes instead.
  • Handle excessive boto API RequestLimitExceeded errors in larger system deployments.
  • Prevent the attachment of encrypted EBS volumes during node failure recovery from timing out.
